Michelle Raskin, a graduate of the Pardes Educators Program and Hebrew College, originally came to JCDSRI as a student teacher in 2nd and 3rd grade in 2016. Michelle received her BA in Philosophy from UC Berkeley. She spent years working at the Berkeley Free Clinic as a community health worker and counselor. Michelle has studied at Shirat Devorah Seminary, Neve Yerusahalayim, and Maayanot (all in Jerusalem). She has taught Hebrew and religious school, and has been a Curriculum Researcher for the Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development and Jewish Eco-Seminars. Building community, social-emotional learning, and empowering all learners are all big priorities for her as a teacher. In her free time, Michelle enjoys long-distance walking (once from France to Portugal), bicycle trips and practicing yoga.
